Flower pot invaders

Question
For the past week, we have been filling our front & back porch flower pots with annuals.  At night, an invader would dump over all the pots, pull out all the soil & flowers, & leave a mess. He wouldn't necessarily eat any of the roots, and definitely did not eat any of the flowers. He does not bother any of our other beds, which are covered with cypress mulch.  This has happened several nights this past week. The muddy tracks look more like skunk or ferret-type animal than raccoon(according to our Animal Tracks book).  We tried Deer-off, dried blood, & other organic repellant.  We had been assuming it's a raccoon, but the tracks have us miffed...

Answer
I am not sure what your question is. Do you want the tracks identified? Then send a photo with object in it for scale to [email protected]

Do you want to learn how to control the animal? Well, once it is identified or for helps to identify, visit http://icwdm.org

As for repellents, you have rightly discovered that they rarely work the way the public wishes they would.  Which is why I have written information to help people understand why they don't work and rarely will. Visit http://www.icwdm.org/ControlMethods/repellents.asp
