dogs and lawn problem

Question
Hi
I don't know if there is anything you could advise but we have a springer spaniel dog and our small lawn is suffering due to the dog when she has a wee.  There are patches of brown where the grass is dying off, is there anything we can do to help the grass recover?
Any advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated, thanks
Helen

Answer
The best advice I can give you is to water thoroughly after the dog does her business. Provide lawn fertilizer on regular basis (as recommended for your type of lawn) to promote regrowth and greening.

I do not recommend that you try to change the dogs diet. It seldom works and can hurt your dog. I have provided an article below.

The best option you have is to train the dog to go elsewhere. it is not easy, but can be done.

Good luck
Kenneth
