Any help for gopher problems?

Question
I garden organically and dont want to use poison or traps but the little devils are eating all my plants. Started using gopher cages but they are tearing up my yard. my Jack russell terrier tried to catch them but just digs the holes larger. can you tell me is there a safe way to get them to leave? thanks so much!

Answer
Hi Ann'
Sprinkle ceyenne pepper down each hole. they will dig new holes, put the ceyenne down any new holes they dig.
they should give up pretty soon and go to somewhere there is not ceyenne.
It does the same thing to their noses it would do to yours.
it won't do permanent damage to them, just be an irritant they don't ike. works for squirrels and other air breathing pests.
those chili pepper seeds you get in the spice dept, and sprinkle on pizza? Put some in bird feeders to keep squirrels out of the bird feeders. It won't bother the birds.
