grasses invade pachysandra

Question
hi charlotte

you previously advised a reader to use a grass killer to eliminate grasses invading pachysandra, but to make sure it is one that will not kill broad leaf plants.

but, you didnt mention the names of any such chems?

can you give me a suggestion of which kind.

thank you.

Answer
Hi Patrick;
I have never used any of the grass killers, so i don't know which ones work and which kill things they are not supposed to kill.
Green Light brand is good products.
Their WipeOut is a good BROADLEAF weed killer, and it will not harm grasses at all.
Check to see if they have a grass killer that will only kill grass.
I don't like scott's products.
I never used one that did what they said it would do.
Fertilome is the best line of chemical fertilizers I ever found.
If you just keep the grass pulled until the plants spread out thick enough to keep sun away from the grass, it should eventually stop growing there, if you pull it out well and get all the root.
sorry I can't help more.
just read the labels of any grass killers before you buy it, to make sure what it does and doesn't do.
Charlotte
