Cats in my yard & driveway

Question
If I don't have a dog or cat & just want to keep the cats out of my yard, would it be beneficial to sprinkle the cayenne pepper all over my yard & flower beds & not harm the cats?  I'm just so tired & frustrated from cleaning up after cats that's not my own!!!!

Answer
Hi Louise;
Got something even better.
My holly bushes under my front windows used to be th post office for all the male cats in our neighborhood, and the front of my house smelled so bad, we couldn't have the windows open.
I tried every cat repellant on the market. Some were even little lemon scented waxy things yu hung in the plants.
Nothing worked.
I read that fresh lemon peela rpelled them, so I bought some lemons, and chopped the peels about th size of a small fingernail, and scattered them in my flower beds.
I washs the plants off with soapy water and rinsed till the smell was gone, then sprinkled down the lemon peels.
No more cats!!!
Every time I use a lemon, I chop the peels and scatter them in the beds and container plants.
I keep a mental grid of where I put thm, so I am rotating some fresh ones in there all the time.
Have been doing that for about 15 years, and haven't had a cat urine smell, or dug up a supprise in my flower bed since.
When I get home with little flowers to set out, I don't alkways go get a pair of gardening gloves.
A couple of times, before I started using the lemons, I had a real freak out experience, when I uncovered  poop they had covered up in there.
The lemon peels are very small, and they don't get a roten smell as they dry up.
Then theyu compost eventually and add nutrients to the soil.
I chop them small, so they settle into the grass and plants, and don't look unsightly.
I had to laugh at a letter I got a couple of years ago.
This man and his wife were at their wits end with the cats using their flower beds for a litter box, and they had tried everything.
I told him about the lemon peels, and he wrote back that they had bought a dozen lemons and scattered the peels, and there had been no mre cat problems.
He said he and his wife would love me forever.LOl
