Sugar and Winter Rye

Question
I just fed my lawn sugar about 3 weeks ago, right before it rained heavily.  How long before I should see results?  I have Bermuda grass and it still looks dormant.  Also, I was wanting to lay out some Winter Rye seeds.  Is it too late to do that now?  If so, when should I do it, will it kill the Bermuda to where I will have to replant that after the winter rye dies, and after the winter rye dies, will I have to re-seed my lawn again year after year?

Answer
Hi Sue;
I don't know a thing about growing ryes. Down here, they are weeds, and we strive to get rid of all of it. the sugar got rid of all the rye in my lawn.
When you should see results depends on when the grass starts to green up in your area.
I live in North Texas, and we are greening up now. some of the colder climates are still in dormancy.
