Lawn Treatments

Question
How often do you apply the baking soda & water mixture to your brown patches on the lawn?  Also, how often do you water the landscape and/or indoor plants with the sugar/water mixture?

Thanks!

Answer
Hi Traci;
Just once should do it.
If you have a very bad infestation of fungus, it may take more than one, but you will certainly be able to tell very soon if one application is enough.
I have never had to use a second one.
If you live in an area that is very subject to fungus, you may have to treat new breakouts of fungus.
I don't water with a sugar water mixture.
I broadcast the sugar by hand, and then water it in.
I apply sugar in the spring, mid-summer and fall.
I apply 4 to 5 pounds per 1000 sq.ft of lawn and garden.
I do put it on the indoor plants, because I put about a cup full of mulch my husband makes on each potted plant. That is enough to get the micro-organisms into the soil.
They will then reproduce on their own.
I make alfalfa tea and I water my house plants with that about once a month.
Put 1 cup alfalfa meal to 5 gallons of water and let it set overnight, mix and water indoor plants and outdoor plants with it. I put about 1 pint on potted plants in a 12 inch pot, and I give each rose bush etc about a quart of the tea.
