Question
Hello, I live in the Northwest in a townhouse that has no backyard but I have a fairly large Deck with 7ft fencing around it. I would like to make a raised lawn for my dogs who are 2 lbs and 5 lbs so this would need to be pretty shallow. My deck is about 2 ft off the ground and has space betwen each slab of wood for drainage. I was thinking I could build a raised box about 6 inch's with some drainage holes and add a little soil 2-4 inch's, and sod. do you think this would work.

         I appreciate your idea. But plants/grasses needs sun light to be healthy. How you will manage that. The only way to install Florescent tube light to provide light. Only then I think it can be feasible. Select a variety of grass which could perform well in shady conditions.
