dog waste

Question
I live in Wisconsin and this winter has been absolutely brutal so it hasn't been easy to pick up dog waste in my back yard.  Now that the snow has begun to thaw, is there something I need to do to my lawn besides pick up the waste?

Answer
Mike:

The dog waste should be innocuous by now.  It is probably white and drained of nutrients.

For a maintenance regime, I would call your local ag agent to get a copy of a brochure on the subject.  There ought to be a good description of how to maintain a lawn with recommendations for fertilizing, overseeding, aerating, thatching, weed and pest control, etc.

This appears to be a research topic.  I can help with specific problems.

Best wishes.
