bald spots in freshly seeded lawn

Question
After my recent seeding and fertilization of winter season grass in both back and front yard, back yard is doing great but front yard has brown or bald spots that will not grow. Maintenance has been the same on both. What am I doing wrong in the front yard? northern scottsdale az.

Answer
There could be a huge number of factors in play here. What is the shade situation? Are you positive they've both received the same amount of water? Is there any way the seeding could have been done better in the back yard?

To come to a true analysis of the situation, I'd really need to see the situation first hand. If it is as you say, and you're treating the front yard exactly the same as the back, and the back looks good, you're not likely doing anything wrong in the front. It's probably just some sort of natural difference that would need to be identified on site.

If you have any further details that might help me understand better, I'd be happy to revisit the question.
