Lawncare

Question
I have a shaded back yard and it previously was healthy with green grass.  After a year of neglect we have a considerable amount of moss growing under the remaining grass.  What steps do I need to take to get the lawn healthy again?  I do need to seed the lawn and put down lime but when and in what order?

Answer
Shaded and one year of neglect; moss is growing. Seems that the shade has increased or water has increased or both. I expect that if you remedy the shade/moisture condition, then the lawn will improve.
Usually, lime is incorporated in the soil which suggests that it should be done first.
