lawns, yellow colouring and pH

Question
Hi
I have had new turf laid in my back yard. Its a week old and its got a big yellow patch in the middle. Its had plenty of water. I suspect that the patch is where I dumped some tile adhesive on the ground just before the turf was laid. This tile adhesive is quite alkaline. Is there anything I can do to get the turf healthy again? Thanks Steve

Answer
You seem to have determined the cause of the yellowing. Tile adhesive sounds as if it could be very toxic also. I cannot offer a solution except to remove the contaminated soil and replace with clean fill. If you do this quickly enough, you might be able to save the sod.
