splashing outside fountain

Question
Is there a way to slow down the flow of water at the top
of the fountain where there is 1/2" tube where the flow of
water comes and drops to 2 bowls down to the bottom one
which is about 5' round?? Need to keep filling w/water

Answer
Hi Jeanne

Ok, this isn't the easiest but, depending on how long the fall is, you have a couple options.

If the fall of the water would allow the introduction of an antique, rusty chain to allow the water to run down it the fall speed would reduce dramatically.

Alternatively place some marginal (waterside) plants that would absorb the shock of the water hitting the surface of the water below.

Try adjusting the pump speed or reducing the size of the outlet hole.

Just some ideas... it's a tough one, as I said.

Good luck
