Question
The front of my house is southern exposure in Vermont and I am looking for shrub/evergreen for each side of my front steps.  I had pj rhododendrons but keep dying.  What would you recommend?

I also had trouble with rhodies in the front/southern exposure at our home in Virginia.

If you are after an evergreen look, I'd suggest Thuja/Arborvitae, Mugo Pine, or Juniper, with the species depending on the space requirements (juniper have many variations)
