Question
Hi - Received as a gift...want to plant.  Cannot find any info re whether deer will eat the mazus like a salad.  Your answer will affect my planting.

Mazus reptans is not listed as either a deer favorite or one that the deer will avoid.

Generally deer will eat just about any plant if the food supply is poor, and as builders and developers continue to build and develop, the food supply for larger animals is destroyed in the process, so depending on the number of deer in your area, you might find that the deer will eat it.

Mazus reptans makes an excellent ground cover, especially between stepping stones and similar uses. That means that it is usually planted fairly close to the house or other high activity areas, which generally discourage deer.

However, when deer are hungry, all bets are off! LOL
