HiI was given a Southern...

Question
Hi

I was given a Southern Magnolia, a Saucer Magnolia, a Smoke Tree, a Red Japanese Tree and to Crape Myrtles, all baby trees. Will they do good if i plant them in containers? If so, How big should the container be and how often should it be repoted? Terracota or plastic? full sun or partial shade?

Thank You for your time!!!

Answer
Marcella,

All with perform adequately in containers.  I am assuming you would keep on your patio or some like arrangement.  Put them in as big of container as your site will allow.  I personally think the terra cotta would work better than the plastic and all should be fine in full sun with adequate irrigation.

Good luck
