Question
QUESTION: I'm having problem with my Hardie HHA 11272 irrigation controller.  When I switch my unit to "set programs" the digital display just continues to run or count down time. You can't re-program the unit.  Once you switch back to OFF or RUN the display clock is fine again.  I've tried pulling the battery and unit from electricity to re-set but it doesn't work.  Is the unit fried?  Hope you can help.  Thanks!

ANSWER: Hey Shane, sounds like you're on the right track. About the only thing to try doing, is with the battery pulled off, power down the unit for about 30 seconds or more. When you power it up, leave the battery out and see if the same thing is happening. You might of already tried this. If it's still messed up, replace the unit. I would recommend a Irritrol "Rain-Dial" controller. Good luck and let me know if I can help you out anymore and have a great day.

Hey Shane, I hope this helps. The Rain- Dial comes in an indoor and an outdoor model. The Indoor model uses a plug in transformer that plugs into any 110 volt outlet. But the field wires would have to be transferred from your old clock. This is real easy, The common field wire is marked C in the controller, and the individual stations are marked 1,2,3, etc. Just make sure whatever wire you unscrew, you transfer the same one to the new controller. You could also check and see if the Hardie controller is still being made. I'm not familiar with this particular model, if you can buy the same one, alot of times you can transfer just the panel, and not have to replace the old case. This would be alot easier. Again I wish I could tell you for certain about your particular controller. I would be happy to call my supplier tomorrow and pick their brain about this model, and reply to you tomorrow.
