sprinkler controller problem

Question
my controlled box LED display is off, checked the outlet where it's plugged is operational.  what do you think is wrong? could it possibly the control box or just the transformer

Answer
Hey Ofelia, I hope this helps. The first thing I would check, is if the transformer is working properly. To do this you would need to try checking the voltage with a volt meter at the terminal strip in back of the controller. There should be two wires marked 24 volts. Check it by touching the probes from the volt meter on these 2 wires. If you're not getting any reading, then your transformer is shot and needs to be replaced. The other thing that could keep you from having a display, is a blown fuse. Not all controllers have fuses, and I would need to know what brand and model # you have, or simply look in the bottom of the controller where the wires hook in, and see if you see one. If it is not the transformer or a fuse, then the controller could be bad. Good luck and let me know if I can be of anymore help, have a good day.
