Rainbird pwr off

Question
Rainbird control showing "pwr off". Mounted outside. Was working fine until two days ago..Small sticker on lid panel states system will not work as programmed if enough moisture/wetness is detected. Located is Sanibel, Fl and it hasn't rained that much lately. Checked fuse boxes inside the house and nothing appears to be tripped. Programmed to run 3 days a week. I believe it is an 8 zone system. I checked yesterday and this morning and still "pwr off". Sprinklers haven't run since Weds and no rain since. Not sure of model or year but has been working fine for the last 2 weeks (since we've been here) and now "pwr off" is displayed...

Answer
Hey Ken, "pwr off" means there is no power getting to the unit. Check to see that all the circuit breakers are on, also, sometimes the unit might be plugged in to an outlet, and not "hard wired". If it is plugged into an outlet, make sure the outlet has power to it. Sometimes the outlets could be on what is called a "GFCI" controlled outlet, which means if one of the outlets goes to ground, none of the outlets will work. Check inside or outside for a re-set button, if indeed it is hooked to a "GFCI" circuit. If it is getting 110 volts to the controller, then it could be the transformer. The 110 volts comes into the transformer, then the transformer converts the voltage to the controller to 24 volts. With a volt/ohm meter, check the voltage at the transformer to see if you are getting 24 volts. If your not getting 24 volts, then the transformer need sto be replaced. If you are receiving 24 volts at the controller, but it is still reading "pwr off" then the controller is probably defective, and nees to be replaced. Good luck and have a great day.
