Rain bird 600i Error on zone 2

Question
QUESTION: On my Rainbird Timer SST-600i I am now get a message that reads, "Error detected, check wiring in zone #2. I don't know what this means.  I'm able to run all of my other 5 zones without an any errors.

Could this be a bad Solenoid issue?
Thank you...

ANSWER: Hey Louie, you are correct. valve #2 solenoid has probably gone bad, or the wire from the controller to valve #2 has got a short in it. More than likely it is the solenoid, replace this first and if this doesn't do it, then check the wiring. Good luck and have a great day.

QUESTION: Hey Jim one my question.

Would you know where I can purchase a Solenoid for my Rain bird 6001 system.

Answer
Hey Louie, the solenoid will depend on which brand "valve" you have. for instance, just because you have a Rainbird controller, you might have a Toro valve. What you can do, is find the valve, and it should have the brand and model # marked on it. Or you can   turn the water off to the system, and unscrew the solenoid, and take it to any irrigation (sprinkler) supply store, and they can match it up for you. I'm not sure about your area of the country, but look in the yellow pages under "sprinklers" lawn and garden, and you should be able to find a supplier. Also, Home Depot, and Lowes carry different automatic valves and valve solenoids, you might find one at these stores. Good luck and have a great day.
