mystery volunteer plant

Question
-------------------------
Thank you for such prompt response to my question. The plant looks so lovely, it's too bad it's no good.
I have another question regarding my strawberry plants, last year I put in new plants and of course tended them everyday, took off runners and blossoms, fed and nutured them. This year I was expecting a fabulous yeild, the plants were huge and healthy! What I got was a great yield from one plant, the rest were very poor, I had rotted and dry berries on the same bushes. What do you think went wrong?

Answer
Hi Maxine, strawberries are subject to a great deal of virus diseases, that is the main reason they produce runners to always seek new soil to grow in. one plant doing fine and the other having rot could be many reasons from soil to improper pollination to viruses. make sure to buy your plants from a licensed plant nursery for your area! hope this helps!
