tabaco horn worms on tamato plants

Question
every year with out fail we get the tabaco horn worm on our tomato plants.  Is there some way to stop the moth from laying eggs on the plants?  I would love a good organic method.  About all I do now is keep a close eye out and pick them off as soon as I find them.

Answer
Dear Lisa,
I use diatomaceous earth.  I sprinkle it on the leaves and around the base of the plant.  It does sometimes have to be reapplied after rains, though, but that's not usually so much through late July and August.
I hope this helps.
