Pickle Plant

Question
QUESTION: Discovered a flurishing pickle plant amongst the cucumbers.  Harvested 8, yellow/green pickles so far. Approx. 7 in. X 2 1/2 in. each. I need to know what to do with them to make them edible.

ANSWER: Dutchie:
If they are yellow, they are probably over ripe. Have you tried them? I'm not sure why you're asking how to make them edible. Are they bitter?

QUESTION: I didn't know if there's something I should do before tasting it. Do you put them in vinegar in a jar or add pickling spice? I need to know when to pick it and what then? Do you eat it right from the garden...Thank You

Answer
I see, I didn't understand your question. Pickles are cucumbers which have been soaked in a brine or other kind of pickling liquid. You can eat them right out of the garden - have you ever eaten fresh cucumbers? There are many, many pickle recipes, which one you use depends on what kind of pickle you like and how much work you want to do. Look in any cookbook or search the internet. Pick the cucumbers at just about any time - but definitely before they start to turn yellow.
