Indoors gardening

Question
I live in WV and would like to grow vegetables indoors this winter to eat. Is it possible to grow them to maturity in side?

Answer
Dear Kathy,
It is possible to grow lettuce and leafy greens to full size indoors without anything extra, just sunlight and warmth.  Now as for tomatoes, peppers, etc. you will have to pollinate the blossoms.  I use a cotton swab and just lightly touch the blossoms from one to the next.  They will not produce as plentifully as outdoors, mostly due to limited sunlight.  A grow light will help that and make sure the pots are deep enough.  I've grown tomatoes and peppers all winter.  And we always have fresh greens.
I wish you success.
Kind Regards,
KD Liz
