BROMELIAD FERTILIZER and blood meal

Question
Hi, i was wondering what is the difference between BROMELIAD FERTILIZER and blood meal? What exactly is blood meal? Is there any contents in BROMELIAD FERTILIZER that contains blood meal? Or are they 2 separate kind of fertilizers? Can you please explain to me what is blood meal?

thanks so much

Answer
'Bromeliad Fertilizer' can be anything, but it probably never has any bloodmeal in it.

Anyone can put anything together and call it anything they want and go ahead and sell it.  I know you realize this, but you have just not put one and one together yet.  Bromeliad Fertilizer can be anything they want it to be.

Look for a nutritional analysis on the side of the package/box/container.  It should give you a three digit number for N-P-K (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium).  By law, this belongs on every fertilizer container you can buy.

It will also give you the source of the N, P and K.  Urea is a common source.  There are hundreds of others depending on the fertilizer.

Bloodmeal is the dried blood of mammals, usually cattle slaughtered for meat.  It is very high in Nitrogen and is an excellent soil amendment.  I know, it sounds creepy, but this is a good use for that Blood.  It is totally organic, unlike 'Bromeliad Fertilizer'.

Hope this is clear now.  Any questions to clarify, please ask.
