A: I anticipate a big resurgence of lawn weeds this spring and summer due to the stress from the drought last year. But since annual bluegrass has already germinated, a pre-emergent will have no effect on it now. This is a fine time to begin your plans for summer weed control. The key is to apply a pre-emergent before a rain so the chemical is dissolved into the soil.
