Hosta sieboldiana Elegans

'Elegans' is a large hosta with deep, smoky blue, slightly frosted heart-shaped foliage.  Deep veins give the leaves a corrugated look. White flowers bloom in early spring. Use in the back of a mixed border or as landscape specimens.

Care: 

Grow in moist but well-drained, fertile soil. Shade tolerant. Grows best with full morning sun. Tolerates drought, but a summer mulch is beneficial.

Propagation: 

Divide plants in late summer or early spring.

Problems: 

Slugs, snails, viruses, foliar nematodes. In containers, watch for vine weevils.
