Delosperma cooperi

Ice plant (Delosperma cooperi) del-oh-SPER-mah KOOP-er-eye Genus:  Delosperma Summer-long bloom and a tough constitution make the mat-forming ice plant a perfect groundcover. Two-inch magenta blossoms with white anthers are produced in midsummer and late summer. Care:  Grow in sharply drained soil in full sun. Prefers a sheltered site, and dry conditions in winter. Propagation:  Take stem cuttings in spring or summer; sow seed at 70°F. Problems:  Mealybugs, aphids.
