Sassafras – Planting

I personally wish more gardeners would plant sassafras in their landscapes. I don’t think I have ever seen it offered at a nursery. If several were planted together, the fall color would be spectacular. The tree is touchy about being transplanted from the woods as a large specimen. Try to find some small sprouts and move them to a corner of your lot as a cluster. I think you’ll have a winner.
