Tropical flowers grow in the flourishing and fertile tropics in warm weather. They are called exotic flowers because they belong to the alluring lush green places. They have bright colors which uplift your mood. These flowers do not require a lot of care but need plenty of sunlight and water.

Anthurium
Anthurium has a heart-shaped glossy spathe (petal-like structure) and at the center of the flower, there is an upright spadix. There are almost 800 species of anthurium found in the area stretching from Mexico to northern Argentina, to Uruguay. Anthurium is a native genus of the West Indies, though it is often confused to be native to Hawaii. Anthuriums have a bright red spathe and cream colored spadix. Tulip anthuriums are found in various colors like white, red, purple, green, and lavender.

Bird of Paradise
Bird of Paradise, also called crane flower, is orange and blue in color. It is native to New Guinea and Australia. Bird of Paradise is made of three orange petals standing upright and three blue colored petals.

Bromelia
Bromelia is a tropical flower which resembles a pineapple and is made up of bright colored bracts. The leaves of this plant are also like the spikes of pineapple. It comes in shades of red, crimson, and purple.

Bougainvillea
Bougainvillea is one of the most beautiful vines with colorful flowers in almost all colors. It has three papery bracts and is one of the most popular ornamental flowers.

Hibiscus
Hibiscus is a trumpet-shaped flower which has five or more than five petals. It comes in myriad colors. Hibiscus has some medicinal properties and this makes it an ingredient in many herbal teas.

Red Ginger
Red ginger is a native Malaysian flower with long red bracts and is another popular ornamental flower. It has a waxy blossom with a thick stem at the bottom.

Protea
Protea has hairy florets surrounded with oval shaped pink or red colored leaves. Protea is native to South Africa and has around 2000 species. It is an excellent choice for making floral arrangements.

Orchids
Orchids are rare species of the most exquisite and fascinating flowers on earth. There are many different types of orchids. Some of them are as follows:
  • Phalaenopsis Orchids
    Phalaenopsis Orchids resemble the moths' wing movements and are wonderful additions to your home decor. These types of orchids require minimum care as compared to the other types.
  • Dendrobium Orchids
    Dendrobium Orchids have around 1600 species which grow in the summer and last until the winter season. They require a lot of care and maintenance. Dendrobium Orchids are fragrant, and are available in many color combinations.

Tropical flowers are often used in wedding decorations due to their vibrant and beautiful colors. Many of them blossom throughout the year, so they can be used for decorations in any season.
