Information Special: Adding Decorative Topiary Plants

Just as in art, the way things are spaced in interior design is critical to a well-balanced appearance. When you add topiaries to the area you are enhancing, be sure there is enough breathing room for the plants. Remember there are many topiary sizes, shapes, and styles that you can choose from. If you plan to place a topiary into your office, we recommend that you choose a tall circular topiary style. We also recommend that you choose a silk topiary. This way you will not have to worry about water, bugs, or plan food. These trees can also look good in homes and churches. You can find silk topiaries small enough to adorn your desk and large enough to fill a large area of a room. Many arrangements include some topiary elements within a more standard display.

Thoughts on Rearranging My Home

While I am shopping, I am often tempted to buy yet another decorative piece for my home. Unfortunately, this is not great for my wallet or my house! The sad truth of the matter is that when I finally do succumb, my new treasure of a purchase all too often appears as clutter and ends up at my next yard sale. I have been surprised to discover that rearranging my furniture and decorations is often more satisfying"and flattering"than adding something new. Some simple rearranging of my furniture, pictures, and knickknacks spruces up my life at home and gives me that fresh home decor feel. This way, I am expanding my artistic ability and sparing my wallet!

The Pros and Cons for Live and Artificial Plants

One of the first questions that you must resolve when decorating with plants is whether you want them to be real or artificial. There are some great pros and cons to each option. Make sure that if you choose live plants, sunlight and water are readily available to them. Also, bugs are sometimes drawn to live plants. An advantage to live plants is the green thumb you develop as you care for them and watch them grow. Silk or artificial plants are great for storage when you are not using them, such as wreaths or seasonal items. They also are lighter and easier to move. The biggest factor to look at is how life-like it appears. You don’t want someone to walk into the room and instantly know that it is a fake tree or plant. You want it to catch their eye, make them walk up and feel the leaves before they realize that it is artificial. The best compliment an artificial plant can receive is, I thought it was real!

Decorating with Artificial Roses

It is a growing trend in weddings to see more and more silk flowers among the decorations. The type of flower used the most to adorn weddings is the rose. Similarly, there is a growing trend for silk roses in homes today. Not only do silk roses last an extremely long time, but the similarity in appearance to real roses is almost perfect; both of these factors have led to the upswing in usage. Silk roses will last anywhere from a couple years to decades, depending on the care that is given them. There are many ways to decorate your house with roses"they can be added to a garland draped over a mantelpiece, or they can adorn a vase on a side table. When roses are placed in a flower arrangement, be sure to angle them so that they can be seen from any point in the room. Adding a scent to your roses also gives your home a nice touch.
