Saturday, September 19th 10am Putting Your Garden To Bed-Preparing for Winter with Julie Baldo

We will discuss ways to prepare your garden for winter, and tips to get your garden in shape for spring. Additional topics covered will include fall planting and mulching, and designing with bulbs.

Saturday, September 26th 2pm Seed Saving

Learn the proper technique for saving seeds from this year’s garden to grow plants and vegetables next year. Richard Price has 35 years of organic gardening experience, he is a former NOFA-certified organic market gardener, and a Member of the Seedsavers’ Exchange.

Saturday, October 31st 2pm The Secret Lives of Bees with Wayne Robins

Now you can satisfy your curiosity regarding one of man’s earliest, and perhaps most beneficial food crops, honey. Among the topics to be covered will be the life history of the honey bee, working with bees and managing wild swarms, the current bee die-off, and honey-producing plants and flowers. Slides will be shown and honey producing equipment and gear will be shared.

Wayne Robins has been an amateur beekeeper for many years. A former employee of the Buffalo Museum of Science for over 40 years, Wayne is now a partner in Nature Ed-Ventures and serves as senior staff naturalist.
