Building a Vegetable Garden Trellis
Here is what you need and what you must do to have your trellis ready.

Preparation
  • Saplings or branches
  • Tape measure
  • Mallet garden twine
  • Utility knife
Instructions
  1. Select a long bed, let's say around 90 to 97 inch long bed in the garden to place the vegetable trellis. The next step is to lay out eight saplings in a straight line along the bed and ensure that all of them are spaced out equally. The spacing should be almost 12 inches in between each sapling.
  2. Raise up each sapling one at a time and stick it into the ground on the outside edge of the bed.
  3. With the help of a mallet, you could push it in as far as you can. Make sure that you push it approximately 24 inches into the ground. These now become the vertical strips for the trellis.
  4. Place a sapling in front of one sapling and continue the placements in such a manner until you reach the end of the vertical strips.
  5. In order to make the horizontal strips for the trellis, you could slide the sapling down to the bottom of the trellis. You now have the horizontal strips for the trellis.
  6. The spacing of the horizontal supports should be fixed at about six inches. The saplings should be six inches apart from each other horizontally.
  7. Continue to place the saplings between the vertical supports, and if you want, you could adjust them properly so that the strips you derive are even.
  8. Tie each of the intersections of the saplings with the garden twine. Tie a knot with the twine and cut it off with a utility knife.
