Crying Pothos Plant

Question
I just moved a 15+ yr old Pathos Plant into my bedroom from another house. It has began to get droplets of water at the tips of its. It is losing some of its leaves not facing the window, but that is to be expected in the move. The rest of the leves look healthy. Why is it crying?

Answer
Hi Katie Rose,

Those water droplets are the end result of a process called "guttation." This occurs with certain plants in certain conditions when there is a buildup of water pressure in the roots and the plant releases the pressure by secreting water through its leaves.

This is not an indication of a problem nor is it a sign of overwatering as is sometimes believed.

So don't waste any of your own tears worrying about the health of your Pothos. I am sure it is just fine!

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.

If this information has been helpful, please take the time to give me a rating and nomination.
