Artificial Chinese Palm

Can Be Dangerous

Not to be confused with the cheap version of a well-known handheld device, the Chinese palm is actually a beautiful houseplant. All joking aside, the real version of these beautiful evergreens can be somewhat dangerous to have around, even if it does look glorious. Also known as the Chinese fan palm, these plants can inflict a nasty cut to an unsuspecting person, and even children or pets, which is particularly worrying.

If you love the look of Chinese palms, but you have a busy household, and perhaps pets and children, maybe you'd be well advised to get yourself an artificial Chinese palm. That way you can have the benefits of all the beauty with none of the dangers, and certainly less trouble. Oh, and did we mention that an artificial Chinese palm is also considerably cheaper than the real thing?

An Artificial Chinese Palm by Any Other Name

If you're thinking about buying one, you might be interested to know that this plant goes by many names. In addition to straightforward Chinese palm, and the Chinese fan palm we've already mentioned, there are actually two other names. It is sometimes known as the Chusan palm, and you will also see it mentioned as the Chinese windmill palm. Undoubtedly this last name can be attributed to the curious whirling shape the leave make.

Although some people love to collect exotic palms, which includes the Chinese palm, as a kind of hobby, we have to say that in the case of a plant such as this, we can't understand anyone but a full-blown enthusiast going for the real thing. Especially since it can be a danger around the house or office. We'd go for the artificial Chinese palm any day, as it's not dangerous, and it's not expensive. All you get is the genuine beauty!
