pond plants

Question
Eric I have a 12 x 15 pond with a rubber liner covered with round creek stones. last year I planted some lilies and a grass type plants directly in the stones on bottom of pond. Now only to wonder if this was a good idea?? Will they eventually take over the pond and be impossible to get out??

Answer
Hey Bob, you need to put your plants in containers. This makes it easy to get out and cut the excess plants away. They have this stuff at Lowes that comes in a bag, it looks like colored cat litter and it is made for aquatic plants. You just fill up your container with the stuff and put the plant in it then put some rocks on top of the container to keep it submerged and you are ready to go. The lilies will grow out of the container, so you just pull it up, break of the root and you can replant it in another container. Hope this helps Eric.
