Question
I am growing African Violets but some have a green color on the back of the leaf and some are purple on the back. They were both grown from the same same plant so how is this So?

Answer
Jacob,
If you are describing a green back as well as purple colored backs to leaves from the very same plant, it must have something to do with the maturity of the leaves.  In other words, older leaves may have the brighter, more purplish coloring to them while the younger, newer leaves display only green.  I have found this to occur in my violets before, though not often.  As long as your plant appears healthy, and blooms several times a year you should not be concerned.  I hope I answered your question.  If you are still concerned or have questions regarding this please reply back to me and I will try to go into more depth.
