Jasmine Plant

Question
I brought my beautiful, thriving plant indoors because the evenings were beginning to drop in to the low 50's.  I have only had it for 1 1/2 years. As soon as I brought it in the house I sprayed it with Seven to prevent bringing any bugs into the home.  It has been in the house for about 2 weeks now and almost all the leaves have dropped off.  How can I save this treasured plant from dying?

Answer
Hi Patty, ok, first of all you need to begin bringing tender plants in gradually, (move it in at night and back out during the day) and when the days become to cold eventually bringing it in for the winter; now, the second whammy was spraying sevin on it, a better choice would have been a half strength horticultural oil, that would have taken care of any inconspicuous insects that may be on the foliage, and a smattering of a granular insecticide on the soil for any that may be in the soil. Bring it back out during the day and let mother nature bring it back for you, and in at night and you should be alright. .....Patty, I'm sorry, my bad, horticultural oil comes under the trade names of "ultra-fine oil" "organocide oil" ....if you go to home depot, they will point you right to it, and as I said, half strength, it isn't a poison, but it suffocates any small insects that are hiding in the foliage.
