Dracaena Marginata

Question
I purchased the above plant about a year and a half ago. It has been growing fine. Recently the leaves at the bottom of the plant have started turning yellow and have been falling off. Is this normal?

Many Thanks

Answer
Hi Melanie, its a normal reaction to an increase in irrigation, but nothing to be overly concerned with; bottom leaves yellowing is normal, but if you begin to notice problems further up into the crown then that would be a warning sign. Water them once a week and that will be fine. Keep me apprised if the condition worsens, and for now, just snap the yellow leaves off. Nick
