desert rose

Question
i have a desert rose. Before i knew what kind of plant it was, it was planted outside and left through the florida hurricanes and the winter. It froze and got soggy. I cut it down, into the bulb at the bottom (probly a mistake)and repotted it to let it dry out... Is there any chance that it will grow back, could i cut off a section of roots and would it grow back another plant?

Answer
Hi Shelly, it sounds like it went through the ringer, but be patient, you did the right thing cutting it back and cutting out all the dead tissue; they take a long time to rejuvenate, so all you can do now is wait and see, and don't water it! they require very little irrigation. Nick
