QuestionI need a fertilizer for my three Cycads (Sago Palms) and got a recommendation to use Osmocote for tropicals, but cannot find the specific version. Which type would you recommend? Thank you for your help.
AnswerHi George, a well balanced Palm fertilizer will do just fine, thats what I have used on mine for years and they are thriving; the same as I use on all my Palms. Sagos don't need much, once in the Spring and once in the Fall, at a rate of about a pound per 3 inches of trunk diameter. When you spread it, do it evenly from the trunk out to the furthest frond tip, and spread it , don't clump it.................... Lesco puts out a great Palm fertilizer, but any of the named brands that are labeled."Palm fertilizer" will do just fine. Nick
