Majesty Palms / white worms

Question
I read this page and I too am having trouble with these worms destroying my plants and am looking for answer. Have any of you been able to find out what this is and what we can do about them. I did find out that I should not have been sold this type of plant but seeings how I already have it I would like to save it if that's possible. I thank you in advance for your time. Any advice would be very helpful as I am not much of a gardener but I really love the look of the palms in my house.

Answer
Hi Stacey, more often then not, the worms originate from the soil that the palm comes planted in, I always tell questioners to change out the soil when the receive the palm from the nursery; get a container that is larger and get a quality potting mix to change out into. Majestys usually only have spider mites to deal with, and these can be controlled with a daily misting of the fronds. If you change out the soil, then the eggs from where the worms are originating will be eliminated. Kill any that are on the Palm itself with any of the many insecticides for indoor plants.
