all shrubbery and lawn maintenence

Question
I live in South Carolina--I would like to know when the appropriate time is to prune all shrubbery (there are quite a few varities)also when should additonal pine straw be put down and should the existing pine straw be removed--the juniper bushes are growing quite bare at the bottom---what does this mean and how can it be corrected----thanking you in advance for your help

Answer
Hi Grace
shrubs are all pruned at different times so a book would be advisable for you. Your junipher bushes are most likely suffering from a nutritional dificency or a soil ph imbalance, a soil test would help determine that posibility.
Good Luck  larry  ;-)
