lace leaf japanese shrub

Question
My laceleaf looks like something is eating it from the top. I have already trimmed the brown leaves from the top but the bark is also peeling off. It looks like it is dying. What can I do to keep it alive? I live in a small town in Oklahoma. I had a landscaper install the plant about two years ago and it has done well until this year when the top of it shriveled up and turned brown.

Answer
Hello Janice

This sounds like a case of leaf scorch and there are many possible causes and as many remedies.

The cultivation of trees is not really within my area of expertise, so I am going to advise you to go back to the AllExperts gardening menu and click firstly on 'Plant Diseases'.  An expert there may be more able to help you than I can.

Secondly, you may also want to try the link to 'Trees' for further information on the cultivation of this plant.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance on this occasion.
