Question

Answer

transplanting solution
Dear Lisa,

Howdy from "Coach Dave", garden expert and 18yr Home Depot veteran. I share you admiration of "Rose of Sharon"(Althea officinalis).

It seems that perhaps there were many feeder roots damaged from the transplant, or a fungus has attacked the roots from too much water.

The first fix is to simply apply a fungucide when you water next.

If this does not fix, you may have to dig the Althea up and add at least half a 50lb bag of sand to create soil that will drain so as to not kill all the feeder roots.

When you replant you can add some Miracle Gro Quick-Start root feeding solution. Remember, a little goes a long way.

Happy Gardening,

Coach Dave
