iceberg color?

Question
hi
i hope you can help with this strange happening.
we have grown roses for several years and have about 50 plants, and proud to say won a few awards at our local rose show. and some of the people we asked could not come up with a answer to this. we have a ICEBERG plant that has bloomed great white flowers for years, this year the plant had dozens of buds, but when they bloomed they are all a light pink, the bed it is in have a BONICA on each of it and has been that way for years. i use Mills Magic for fertilizer as always.
it is such a let down as the white flowers had stood out with the pink around it.
i hope you help clear up this oddity.
thanks for your time,

tony

Answer
What you describe is not unusual for the Iceberg rose. This rose is very prone to soil conditions and weather. A cool spring will definately turn the flowers a shade of pink or  give a flushed pink center. The colour change usually happens more in the spring than the fall. However if the fall is a cool one, then it will go a pale pink then too. The white will return as it is not a sport. Hope this helps. Lynnette
