fresh green leaves following off from rose plant

Question
I just bought a rose planta week ago. The rose plant gets insirect sunlight as it is kept indoors. Water it once in 5 days as soil is damp. I recently transfreed the rose plant to a larger ppot. after that I have noticed that most of the fresh green leaves are falling of. Why is it so?

Answer
I know that stores sell roses and tell you that you can grow them indoors but most roses hate the dryness of a house. It was a good idea to replant it into a larger pot but roses also dislike being moved and the rose is re-acting to the roots being disturbed. When a rose goes under stress it drops all the leaves and start to go dormant to save itself from dying. Also be careful of watering a potted rose too much. Water your rose and then let the soil dry out, when it is dry to the touch, then only give it enough water to make the soil damp but not wet. Right now I would place a plastic bag over the whole plant and the pot and this will encourage the leaves to grow back again. If you have any fertilizer in the house, dissolve half a teaspoon in water and give it to the rose. Only keep the plastic on for about 5 days and when you see the new leaves starting, take it off but make sure you spray the new foliage with water daily but just give it a little spritz. To keep the rose happy in the home, you will have to dampen the foliage so it won't dry out. Use an indoor plant type of fertilizer don't use a rose one as it is too strong. Fertilize the rose monthly but only in the spring and summer. If possible give the plant a rest in the winter and let it go dormant by putting it in a cold place. Most indoor plants are killed by over watering because a pot doesn't drain away like the garden soil does.
