rose variation

Question
I just picked a single stem  rose (only 1 hip) with two full rose flowers on it. I have never seen this. Is this very unusual? I did take pics.........

Answer
The world is getting some strange springs that are not usually normal for  many regions. Lots of gardeners are getting what is known as proliferation on their roses. This is thought to be caused by a hormonal abnormality. It will regress to a single bloom in the next flush.
