growing lavendar plants

Question
I live inland on the costa brava and have a large garden part of which is rockery. We do have frost and sometimes snow in winter and it gets very hot in the summer. Can I take cuttings from old lavendar plants and if so when is the best time

Answer
Anne,
Wow.I have no idea where Costa Brava is.Sorry, but I live in Western Ky. in zone 6 of the US.If I were you I would go to www.google.com and type in a direct search for "plants to grow in Costa Brava" or www.ask.co and type in "What plants can be grown in Costa Brava?".Sorry my expertise could not extend that far.I do know that Lavender is a very hardy herb and great for dry soil and rockery but I am just not sure about your particular area so I don't want to give you the wrong advice. If it were me I would try one or two plants just to experiment. It would not be costly and most of gardening is experimental anyway.Good luck to you in your future rock garden.
