Perrenial Ideas needed

Question

Poorly placed plants
I have a small plot of garden next to my air conditioner. See attached. My problem is that these plants look terrible because this plot was obviously not planned well by the previous owner. Can you give me some plant ideas how to plant some perennials here so it has a descending height look to it.

Right now in that area I have a potato bush, day lilies, Mexican heather, white plumbago, and two lily of the nile plants and the soil is really clay mostly here in Stockton, california zone 9. These plants really don't look very nice together. If you can suggest other perennial combinations or maybe moving these it would be appreciated. This space gets about 9 hours of sun.

Thank you,

Vic

Answer
Hi Vic,
Thanx for your question. I have thought about this for several days now and I have to tell you, I am not much of a designer.  I can grow things really well, but, I don't really have much of an artistic eye.  So, with that said, I am referring you to the people at Landscaping and Design.  You can access them here on AllExperts by going to Home/Garden and then click on Gardening and then Click on Landscaping and Design.  Those people are much more qualified than I when it comes to putting plants together.  Many of them have certificates in landscape design.  I hope this helps.
Tom
